The thing with being an adult late diagnosed autistic, the hardest part about unmasking is learning how to navigate a world that looks at you as "chaotic" and "messy." And yet, when we wear this mask, we are quite the opposite. We are poised, hyper focused on how we are projecting ourselves out, and we will often make this projection into the perfect representation of what the world feels comfortable looking at. Not who we truly are. Betraying ourselves and the true messiness that comes with being autistic.
We are the truth tellers, the deep feelers, and the authenticity masters when we allow the crystals inside of us to show inside of our messiness. From far away, people may not be able to see our crystals, but the closer they get, the more our brilliance shines. Allowing others to see the beauty within the chaos of a diagnosis turned key to freedom, that I believe will sweep the world, changing it forever.
